3000 is the new 2000
is an ongoing series of publications initiated by
Ronan Le Creurer
. They began taking pictures of shops whose names are followed by the number 2000. They are often small shops, managed by a single person or a small group of individuals. They told ourselves in 2012 that the number 2000 was no longer very marketable.
The design of the storefront and the corporate logo are obsolete, beyond any logic of standardization for increased readability. The principle is to be perceived for a product, an image or a story, in the most universal and timeless way possible. From this point of view, these shops are real anachronisms in the city. Starting this collection work, they note that these shops are doomed to disappear in favor of a new aspiration, that of the year 3000.
